The Orthodox theological Seminary believes that every prisoner has an ardent love and desire and a right to change and lead a normal life like any other citizen. The society too has its responsibility towards these prisoners and their families. But in reality, it is found that the society is not prepared to accept the prisoners but condemns them saying, "Once a criminal, always a criminal".
Prison Ministry is the fulfillment of Christ's mission as recorded in the Gospel according to St. Matthew 25:36 "I was in prison and you visited me." Students involve themselves in various counseling practices in jails around Kottayam. The Seminary through its prison ministry aims to witness God´s liberating love to people behind bars and inculcate in them a desire to change and renew their lives.
